Information

Little Piccolos provides music workshops for toddlers and pre-school children in rural areas.
Young children are given an opportunity to enjoy and participate in music in a fun and friendly environment whilst following a structured and progressive course.

The aim is to develop a firm musical foundation and a range of other skills :

-singing and musical games will help to develop confidence alongside language and listening skills

-co-ordination and creativity through movement and playing percussion instruments

-co-operation and social skills through sharing and learning to take turns

Classes are led by a professional musician and a primary school teacher taking place in a variety of venues including nurseries and pre-schools.

The Barbour Institute, Tattenhall - Wednesdays 9.30am, for toddlers, 1030 for pre-schoolers
Brambly Hedge Nursery, Spurstow, Tuesdays 9.30am (for children attending the nursery)

Biographies

Alison Holmes B.Ed (Hons)

Alison is mum to one young boy of school age and trained as a primary school teacher. With over 10 years' classroom teaching experience of Key Stage 1 children she successfully held responsibility for co-ordinating music for several years at a large Cheshire primary school.
More recently Alison has worked as a peripatetic teacher providing piano and flute tuition.

Hazel Barrett GMus Hons RNCM PPRNCM

Hazel is mum to two young boys and trained as a bassoon player at the Royal Northern College of Music. For several years she worked as Sub-Principal Bassoon with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
During recent years Hazel has worked as a peripatetic teacher providing woodwind tuition in both primary and secondary schools.
